This weekend was the London Dive Show. I've not been in a while and I was busy on Saturday, so went up on the Sunday. My first impression was how quiet it was when I arrived. The days of everyone rushing to dive shows to get deals on equipment seem to have long gone, killed off by the internet. I didn't really have anything I wanted to buy and just browsed the booths of the mainly foreign dive destinations. There were a lot from Indonesia this year, and somewhat closer to home, Ocean Addicts caught my eye. Believe it or not, I've never been to Ireland, let alone dived there and the idea of doing a liveaboard over there really appeals. I think it's a definite for the summer of 2013. If anyone's interested, let me know. He quoted about 750 euros for 6 days, including all diving, breakfast and lunch.
Somewhat more exotically, I also went to Maldives Scuba Tours presentation on Truk, Palau and Bikini. Bikini is very expensive at over £4000, but the Truk/Palau combination was quite a bit less. I think that's going to be my diving holiday destination next year.
Other than that, I bumped into a few people I'd not seen in a while, which was nice. I'm not sure I'll bother with next year though.
